The Hill Preschool is an independent nonprofit early childhood program on Capitol Hill serving children ages two through five.
It began as a playgroup in 1972 and was incorporated in 1979. The school follows a play-based curriculum that blends teacher- and child-initiated learning, with educators watching for teachable moments. Lead teachers hold a bachelor's degree or Child Development Associate credential, and instruction is tailored to each child's social, emotional and cognitive growth.
